i spent this past holiday weekend in my hometown of austin (minnesota), enjoying all that small, midwestern towns have to offer. i think that my appreciation of austin has grown since i moved away, and in order to give thanks to this humble city, i'm going to use my posts this week to give a mini-tour of the place that i call home.

first up? entertainment. featuring the classic friday night triad of Steve's Pizza, Torge's Live and Watts Cookin', also known as The Truck Stop. it's hard to beat this austin tradition...

...then you eat again. there's no better way to end an evening than with a big plate of SPAM and eggs.
